HOUSE IV

Design for a single-family home on the Polish countryside  by manipulation of a pitched roof house. It is a peculiair that since the Polish adopted a free market economy in the nineties, the architecture of people's new homes started to look like a faux nostalgic regional style, apparently from before Communism, from a past that never was. It is rather an expression of "not looking like Communist architecture", bigness and being not too different from what your neighbors build. Most of these houses actually come from catalogues where you can order your seemingly unique but generic home, designed by contractors rather than architects. House IV is a critique against these practices.
