RANDOM SPECIFICITY

My graduation project in Studio Border Conditions, location Kyiv (UA) deals with randomness as a design-generator. A small canal (stumbled upon on a dérive through the city of Kyiv) is investigated through intense mappings, collages, drawings, models and recordings. An objet trouvé is fabricated and subsequently spatial potentialities are then harvested from this collection and projected on a site and fitted with a program suitable for that specific location or left empty for people to wander around. In this case a 700m aquapark is emerging from the Dnipro river, cleaning water as it runs downstream and using this clean water for fish-farms, saunas, a restaurant, a fishing pond and swimming pools.
