→ The connector is the concept for an office and research building for the oil company Orpic in Oman. The concept was to take advantage of the site and create a sheltered environment for the car park, something the client didn't ask for, but what is always an issue in these conditions. The central axis of the project is the 'connector' a double height space that functions as an interior street, linking all parts of the program. The restricted programmatic elements are securely touching ground on one side of the plot while the more public and open functions hover gently above the parking.

 

For this project I was the project leader and responsible for the concept, design and presentation and worked in close collaboration with VMX founder Don Murphy.
